Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 25, 2026

The short version

VideoLibrary is a local-first application. It does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Your video library, tags, ratings, and watch history stay entirely on your device.

1. Who we are

VideoLibrary is an Android application for personal video library management. This policy describes how the app handles information when you use it.

2. Information we do not collect

VideoLibrary does not collect, store remotely, or share any of the following:

  • Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, device ID)
  • Your video content, file names, or folder paths
  • Watch history, tags, ratings, or library metadata
  • Location data
  • Crash reports or analytics events
  • Usage patterns or behavioural data

3. Local data storage

All data generated by VideoLibrary — including your scanned library index, thumbnails, tags, ratings, and play history — is stored exclusively in the app's private storage on your device. This data is:

  • Never transmitted to any server we operate.
  • Deleted when you uninstall the application, unless you have created a backup.
  • Not accessible to other apps (beyond Android's standard storage sharing model).

4. Network access

VideoLibrary requests the INTERNET permission solely to support WebDAV connections that you configure. No network connection is established unless you explicitly set up a WebDAV source.

When a WebDAV connection is active, the app communicates only with the server URL you provided. Your WebDAV credentials are stored in encrypted local storage and are never sent to us.

5. Permissions explained

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO

Required to scan video files from your device storage. Used only to build and update your library index.

INTERNET

Used only for WebDAV connections you configure. Not used to contact any third-party service.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE / RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Used to run background library scans without interruption. No data is transmitted during scans.

6. Third-party services

VideoLibrary does not integrate any analytics SDK, advertising SDK, crash reporting service, or social login provider. No data is shared with third parties.

7. Children's privacy

VideoLibrary does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. As the app collects no personal data, it is suitable for use by all ages subject to parental guidance.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note the change in the app's release notes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
